Air Welder

Position Summary

Operates production equipment; responsible for manufacturing and assembly of industrial products. The primary but not limited to function will be hot air welding. Follows blueprints, guidelines and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the manufacturing/industrial field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs hot air welding on multiple fluoropolymer and non-fluoropolymers.

  • Follow all work instructions and procedures.

  • Follow all HSE procedures and emergency procedures.

  • Fills out all appropriate safety and quality documentation.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to wear all PPE, which includes but not limited to full face and partial face respirator (cartridge and supplied air), safety glasses, safety shoes, chemical suits, and face shields.

  • Reviews drawings.

  • Communicates any issues with quality.

  • Works closely with manufacturing groups and engineering to increase quality and/or efficiency.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Experience in semiconductor and polymers.

    INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

  • General computers skills (email and internet).

  • Able to use ERP system (Infor M3)

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA’s)

  • Detail oriented.

  • Able to plan out jobs in the most efficient way possible.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-changing disruptive environment.

  • Ability to perform under time pressures and meet deadlines.

  • Personal qualities of integrity, honesty, and strong work ethic.

    Working Conditions

  • Work is generally performed in a safe/factory environment.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually under 80 db.

  • Travel opportunities are a possibility.

  • Work 40 hours per week.

  • Overtime during the weekdays and the weekend.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit or reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities require by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Inspection and judgment of quality of work and materials. Ability to spot dangerous or potential hazardous situations at a distance.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and will be required to wear the appropriate PPE. The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious place, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the shop environment is occasionally loud. The temperature in work areas is not regulated everywhere and can occasionally be hot or cold depending on the outside temperature.
