In this position...

We are taking our Maintenance Superintendents to the next level. These talented employees have the title of ‘Team Manager – Maintenance’ and they are the drivers of standardization and continuous improvement in the Ford Production System.

What you'll do...

Safety

  • Address department Health & Safety concerns

  • Enforce department compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards

  • Promote improved department safety metrics and provide resources for activities

  • Enforce safety process adherence for launch-related Pro-Tag and Arc Flash updates, Construction Service Safety audits/compliance checks, and inter-department Pre-Task Analyses

Quality

  • Lead data driven maintenance processes to improve quality metrics (e.g., higher FTT, less scrap, less contamination, and etc.)

  • Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions through the Global 4D or 8D process.

Delivery

  • Monitor production runs to insure they stay on schedule, and correct any maintenance-related problems that arise

  • Provide the resources and activities required to ensure problem free start-ups

  • Facilitate start-up and shift-to-shift meetings

  • Facilitate skilled trades understanding of constraint analysis and provide resources for activities to eliminate bottlenecks

  • Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate the bottlenecks

Cost

  • Lead project writing and the process of collecting and evaluating data in sound business cases

  • Manage to budgets

  • Set, prioritize and provide resources to control and improve Maintenance Cost Per Unit (MCPU)

  • Optimize maintenance activities to improve throughput and meet or beat budgets and production schedules

  • Implement material control (spare part inventory), repair and rebuild programs, and reliability and maintainability reviews

People

  • Disseminate policy deployment, drive SQDCPME, and communicate departmental maintenance goals

  • Coach, counsel and teach subordinates to enhance the One Team goal

  • Lead and participate in production scheduling, staffing, procurement and maintenance of equipment, quality control, inventory control, and the coordination of production activities with those of other departments

  • Promote and support work groups; integrate skilled trades per contractual agreements

  • Create a team environment that is founded on accountability, teamwork, empowerment, and continuous improvement

  • Set and support Time & Data Management events related to the Maintenance Operating System and enforce attendance

Maintenance

  • Coordinate resources and activities to support ME organization launches within your area of responsibility to meet production schedules, budgetary limitations, and time constraints

  • Evaluate and deliver FTPM measurables

  • Maximize equipment effectiveness through a detailed, standardized, and prioritized preventive and predictive maintenance plan designed to improve productivity

  • Review and approve preventive maintenance activities and assess the effectiveness of those activities

  • Devise maintenance plans, strategies, and priorities to support the total department business plan; manage daily maintenance around production optimizing opportunities

  • Provide resources and support to maintenance activities and organize planning activities

  • Confirm and require adherence to Maintenance Operating System processes

  • Review status and progress of goals and objectives and require accountability

  • Ensure department compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards

You'll have...

  • Education: High School Diploma

  • Manufacturing Maintenance experience

  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management

  • Strong ability to present in front of plant management

  • Ability to teach Ford Production System principles

  • Union negotiations experience

  • Competent in the use of data for decision making

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems

  • Work well under pressure and to be able to work under crisis management when necessary

  • Ability to work and multi-task in fast paced environment

  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree:

  • Broad production experience

  • Lead Process Coach experience

  • 6-sigma designation preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision making capability preferred

  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
