Aerotek Lathe Supervisor in Avilla, Indiana

Description:

A facility in Avilla is currently looking for a supervisor to oversee their lathe department. They will oversee roughly 3 other machinist and will report to the plant superintendent. This candidate will be the subject matter expert for the turning department. They will be responsible for mentoring and answering any questions the machinists have. They will coordinate and schedule jobs to ensure they meet production goals. This person will be responsible for all people and machines in the department. This is a hands one role and would require occasionally stepping in and running one of the lathes.

They makes burner tubes for the heat treat industry. This individual must be able to program Mazak Lathes and indicate parts in a 4 jaw chuck. They will be making a lot of one-off parts so must be able to look at a print and program the machine to run the part.

Some of the parts they will be machining can be 10-14 inches in diameter so will have to move into place with an overhead crane.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Have:

-10+ years of machining experience

-CNC Lathe Experience

-5+ years of supervision experience

-Mentor Mindset

-own tools

-Ability to program/setup CNC machines

-ability to read blueprints

-able to lift 40-50 lbs

Shift: 1st shift (4-10 hours for majority of the time)

Pay: $30-$35
