ABM Industries Ventilation Technician in Austin, Texas

Overview

Position Summary Details

The Ventilation Technician position initials the removal, replacement, and cleaning of filters for large roof exhaust fans at manufacturing facilities. Completing routine preventative maintenance and resetting areas to program standards.

Schedule:

Shift A Sunday to Every Other Wednesday 6am – 6pm

Shift B Every Other Wednesday to Saturday 6am – 6pm

Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 depending in experience.

Essential Functions

· Cleans and supports roof top exhaust fans. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as the removal and replacement of filters, cleaning filter housing, wipe down of units, cleanup of any potential leaks, and removing rubbish from area.

· Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

· Establishes and supports effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.

· Follows all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures proven by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.

· Employees must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.

Responsibilities

· Cleans, preps and supports the service of sixteen roof exhaust fans.

· The use of site required PPE, PAPRs, respirators, Tyvek suits, ladders, and small equipment.

· Gathers and empty trash and Hazardous waste.

· Preform proper Hazardous waste disposal to company standards and protocols.

· Periodically clean inside units, the vents, and any unit exhaust ducting.

· Sets up, arranges, and removal of any ladders or equipment from working areas.

· Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

· May be expected to make basic repairs.

· Monitors inclement weather warnings. Roof work is restricted if lightning, high winds or heavy rain are present. If so, duties will be reassigned for inside facilities aid.

· Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor and facility team.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be 18 years of age or older.

· Must complete and pass FIT test for respirator use within two weeks of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

· 1 year of similar work experience
