Oversees field work of zone technicians involved with electrical, steam, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and other building systems and assists as needed. Reports and coordinates work status to supervisor.(20%)Inspects finished work for conformity to specifications and standards, and expected level of craftsmanship. Records information on job such as time and materials. Driving university owned vehicles to job sites will be required.(20%)Leads and gives direction to a Zone crew after receiving specifications from supervisor. Reports and coordinates project status to supervisor. (15%)Motivates workers to meet production and quality standards. Assists in solving work related problems. (15%)Assists with daily data entry and monitoring to maintain shop effectiveness including shop safety program. (10%)Orders job-related materials. (10%)Assists supervisor with hiring, training, and evaluating other personnel. (5%)Interprets and works from drawings, specifications, sketches, for assigned projects to ensure university standards are maintained. (5%)Perform other related functions as assigned.
