Amazon Senior Software Engineer, Annapurna Labs in Austin, Texas

Description

Annapurna Labs is an integral part of AWS and develops hardware and software components that are critical building blocks for EC2 infrastructure. We specialize in designing software, systems and chips that optimize the AWS customer experience. This team works on building networking solutions so that customers can scale their cloud applications with the best performance. We are seeking an experienced engineer with low level, high performance networking experience. This experience might be in HPC interconnects, high frequency trading, high-speed wireless networking, or any application where networking performance matters greatly. Knowledge of embedded systems, transport protocols, network fabrics and kernel/device drivers is critical for the position.

Key job responsibilities

  • Advanced development of highly scalable and available embedded networking technology

  • Cross-functional work with architecture and hardware teams

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field

  • 5+ years of low level host-side networking experience - firmware, linux kernel/userpace development or device drivers.

  • 5+ years of experience with programming language: C or C+- 5+ years of experience in high speed embedded Linux systems

  • Experience with high performance networking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industry standard transports such as TCP, UDP, Infiniband/RoCE and experience designing and building transport layers.

  • Experience with network fabric protocols such as congestion control, priority flow control and credit based flow control.

  • Experience with writing real time C code on smartNIC and familiarity with SoC architecture.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure development.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
