At Amazon Healthcare Security, we are on a mission to make healthcare easy. We are developing a patient-centric healthcare experience that is personal, transparent, and convenient. We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our team.
Healthcare Security Engineers are consultants and partners to Amazon Healthcare developers and product owners on all things security. Senior Security Engineers act as the senior technical resource delivering security support for Healthcare business lines and large initiatives. They are advisors to business leaders, mentor other security engineers, and continuously improve the way we protect our systems and earn customer trust.
Key job responsibilities
Deliver bar-raising security services both independently and in a team lead capacity, such as design and implementation reviews, security testing, operational security and incident response support, paved path development, security research, etc.
Act as senior technical advisor to business leaders such as Product and Program Owners, Software Development leaders, and Principal Engineers.
Identify and deliver on opportunities to automate security processes and improve security-at-scale. Partner with other Amazon Security teams to deliver central solutions and solve highly ambiguous problems.
Interview and mentor security engineers and technical program managers.
Collaborate with Healthcare Security leaders and Principal Engineers to continuously improve how we deliver on our security mission.
Periodic on-call responsibilities and occasional travel as required.

Basic Qualifications
8+ years of security engineering experience in a software development environment across all phases of the SDLC including security testing, threat modeling, and code and design reviews.
5+ years developing and maturing secure frameworks, technical roadmaps, and paved paths.
5+ years contributing to security strategy and collaborating with senior technical and non-technical leaders.
3+ years of hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, and C-family languages.
Preferred Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical degree
Experience delivering high-judgement solutions in ambiguous and greenfield situations.
Experience designing and delivering solutions that quantitatively reduced the cost of security adoption.
Experience aligning security strategy to business objectives.
Experience with AWS services.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
