Senior Principal Software Engineer - IT

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer , you will deliver products and improvements for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, you will craft and develop software for private cloud (Kubernetes) to support GenAI and Cloud Native workloads on Baremetal platforms, leveraging most sophisticated opensource technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and partnerships.

You will:

· Create automation, employ open-source software, interact with APIs, and enable CI/CD to create new cloud features, harvest/visualize metrics and monitor health/performance/capacity, etc.

· Partner with product and development teams to provide education and design consultation

· Support development teams to migrate applications to Kubernetes based container platform

· Design specifications for high availability and highly scalable applications used by Dell Internal application teams

· Assist Data science and business teams with their AI/GenAI needs

Essential Requirements

· 8 to 12 years of professional experience

· Strong working experience with Linux, Networking, storage fundamentals, application architecture, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), Infrastructure services (DNS, Load Balancer, Firewall, Transport Layer Security (TLS) certifications, web servers and reverse proxies

· Deep working experience with Kubernetes networking, Certificate management, Kubernetes storage, Kubernetes monitoring/observability, HELM, NGINX, Ansible, Kubernetes role-based access control( RBAC), Container/pod security, Python/Golang and GIT (CI/CD)

· Broad knowledge in systems telemetry and monitoring (Elastic Search, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace Splunk, etc.)

· Proficiency with Agile methodologies, effective working independently and in a virtual team setting across global regions

Desirable Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field

· Experience with Opensource development and technologies like Calico, Operator SDK/use of Fabric8 API and other Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) technologies
