Position Summary Details

The ABM GCS Safety Technician is responsible for managing all aspects related to the organization’s safety program and practices, including inspections, job hazard analysis, reports, emergency response, incident investigation, and safety training. Reports directly to the Site Manager.

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and lead the team’s safety program with an emphasis on systematically identifying and mitigating hazards in the workplace, identifying and correcting unsafe behaviors, and creating and maintaining a site-specific safety training program.

  • Perform formal risk assessments and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) on all SOP, procedures, and all other written tasks the team performs.

  • Implement and track success of corrective actions identified in risk assessments and JHA.

  • Track and enforce safe work observation inspection programs, good catch submission program, and other safety observations.

  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of the team’s working practices to ensure the safest working environment possible.

  • Create, maintain, and audit safety-related files and records to ensure compliance with all site, company, client, and standards.

  • Administer and track safety-related training covering all aspects of the team’s operations and taking into consideration all variations of work environments.

  • Administer onboarding safety training and maintain employment-dependent safety training standards for the team.

  • Create, administer, and track safety training program to address and stay in compliance with monthly, semi-annual, annual and periodic training requirements as directed by SAS, OSHA, ABM, and other agencies and organizations.

  • Create and administer site-specific safety training programs and classes to enhance the team’s safe working practices.

  • Conduct accident investigations, identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.

  • Ensure SOP are used and updated as required.

  • Assist with SOP development and assessment.

  • Plan, prepare, and execute quarterly live drills, lead exploration and dissemination of lessons-learned, and lead training of corrective actions.

  • Assist in managing the lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) program for the team.

  • Manage and execute reporting incidents and injuries to SAS and ABM management team(s) through the SAS nurse and ABM Nurseline.

  • Create and maintain an up-to-date evacuation plan

  • Create and execute weather preparedness program.

  • working at heights, confined space, and breathing air program management

  • All other tasks and duties as assigned.

Preferred Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (or other email software).

  • Proficiency and accuracy in communications, scanning, and attention to detail.

  • OSHA 30 Certified

  • OSHA 511 Certified

  • HAZWOPER40 Certified

  • Customer Service Experience

  • 1 yr of similar work experience
