Job Summary

Responsible and accountable for leading the Electric Transmission Texas (ETT) business, an ERCOT transmission provider with approximately $3 billion in assets. Responsibilities of the position include overseeing a team of professional staff in Austin, TX, managing services provided by affiliates and third parties, balancing the vested interests of Joint Venture partners, building and maintaining regulatory relationships, developing strategic plans, managing capital budgets and plans, P&L responsibility for the business, and ensuring compliance with NERC standards and laws.

Job Description

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of ETT to ensure safe and timely construction of assets placed in service, deliver positive regulatory outcomes and attain expected financial performance.

  • Develop and execute annual and long-range strategic business plans as approved by the Board of Managers.

  • Establish, maintain, and leverage an added-value network of contacts within the State of Texas that will promote regulatory, legislative, and commercially desirable results.

  • Actively manage all key day-to-day responsibilities for ETT.

  • Build strong relationships with both joint venture partner's representatives.

  • Promote a cooperative working environment with an emphasis on safety, culture and good utility practice.

  • Provide leadership and clarity of expectations to matrix service providers in transmission planning, engineering and project management, financial management, operations, and field services.

  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior.

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the Joint Venture to ensure Partner equity, expected financial performance, timely and safe construction of assets placed in service and positive regulatory outcomes.

  • Develop and execute Joint Venture business plan as approved by the Board of Managers.

  • Establish, maintain and leverage an added-value network of contacts within the State of Texas that will promote regulatory, legislative, and commercially desirable results for the Joint Venture partners.

  • Leads all project development activities for the Joint Venture.

  • Actively manages all key day-to-day responsibilities for the Joint Venture.

  • Consults and advises with key Joint Venture partner's representatives regarding all operational, financial and regulatory matters.

  • Promotes a cooperative working environment with an emphasis on safety and good utility practice.

  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business, or related field of study.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of electric utility or related power experience.

  • Knowledge of transmission markets, with emphasis in ERCOT region preferred.

  • Previous people management experience required.

  • Profit and loss responsibilities, project management experience, and experience leading cross-functional teams a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • The incumbent will need to work within a matrix organization, marshalling resources that may not have a direct reporting relationship to the incumbent, to achieve the Joint Venture's goals and objectives.

  • Commercial and professional presence necessary to represent the Joint Venture in a manner that exemplifies both partners of the Joint Venture commitment to the highest degree of reputation and ethical behavior.

This role is also eligible for substantial short and long-term incentives in addition to base compensation.

$210,822.00-274,067.00 USD
