Foundation Communities Porter - Crossroads in Austin, Texas

Position Description : The Porter position will ensure that all community property grounds are clean on a daily basis.

 

NEW FC EMPLOYEES ELIGIBLE FOR A $500 BONUS

 

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Remove litter and debris daily from all areas of the property (areas include: pool area, laundry rooms, dumpster area, recreation areas, general grounds, and walkways to, from and in between buildings)

  • Trash out vacated apartments (remove abandoned furniture, trash, boxes, etc.)

  • Assist with various physical tasks (.e. tearing down fences, digging trenches, etc.)

  • Assist with make-readies

  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of storage rooms

  • Distribute resident communications

  • Maintain awareness of utility meter cut-offs, sewer clean-outs, and safety precautions

  • Repair and adjust sprinklers

    Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma/ equivalent OR 1 year of practical experience with demonstration of required skills

  • To work at other Foundation Communities properties in the Austin area as needed

  • Ability to speak, read and write English

    Working Conditions

    An occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials can be expected. May be asked to clean up bodily fluids with appropriate training and personal protective equipment provided.

    Physical Requirements 

    CONSTANTLY: standing/walking, bending/stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, grasping/gripping, reaching above the shoulder, climbing, lifting between 0 and 25 pounds.

    FREQUENTLY: coordination of hand/eye/foot, finger dexterity, lifting between 26 and 50 pounds.

    May be required to provide coverage/help at other supportive housing communities as needed.

    Compensation

    $16.00/hour
