ASM Global Operations Staff in Austin, Texas

Summary: ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Janitor/Porter for ASM/The Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex. This position functions under General Supervision of the Operations Manager. He/She will maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitary conditions of the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Helps to maintain clean and sanitary conditions inside and outside the venue. Cleans and sanitizes all areas of the building including, restrooms, foyer, office spaces, and main activity areas. Completes daily tasks (trash removal, recycling, restrooms, cleans public surface areas in food court, etc) Completes weekly or monthly projects (vacuuming carpets, mop and polish floors, windows and dusting as needed). Restocks products such as soaps, paper products, deodorizers, and sprays. Maintains supply of cleaning chemicals, tools, and related items. Maintains external areas of the venue including garden beds, interior planters, and parking lot. Maintains a log of any repair items detected and report to Operations Supervisor. Follows oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. May assist other Operations Department staff set up and take down special event equipment and materials. All other duties as assigned. This position is currently part-time, (20-24 hours per week) but may transition to full time if needed. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience High school graduate preferred; at least 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience as janitor, custodian, day porter, or domestic cleaner will be beneficial. Skills and Abilities Good oral and written communication skills; must maintain a neat appearance; must be dependable, self- motivated, and responsible. Must have stable work history and ability to work to a high standard. Other Qualifications Must be able to work an irregular schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays for special events. Must be able to pass a US criminal background check. Must be authorized to work in the US.
