ICU Medical Manufacturing Supervisor - 3rd Shift in Austin, Texas

Onsite job at Austin TX plant. Shift: Sunday-Thursday 10:00PM-6:00AM FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: Responsible for achievement of production, quality, compliance, cost and safety standards for assigned manufacturing areas. Effectively utilizes labor, material and support services to achieve quality standards, production schedules and profit plans. Through effective leadership, management and supervision, gains the respect and commitment of the area employees. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: •Supervises assigned manufacturing area daily to achieve department goals. •Hires, trains, evaluates, motivates and develops employees in production areas. •Ensures that products manufactured meet all quality and customer service standards. •Monitors and adjusts production schedules to optimize throughput and customer service. Anticipates and reacts to labor and material shortages. •Investigates root cause of quality, quantity or processing issues and implements solutions to prevent reoccurrence. Ensures safety and environmental awareness and compliance by all department employees. Participates in the establishment of area safety rules. Participates in the development of operating budgets including materials, staffing, expense and capital expenditures. •Participates in ongoing cost reduction program. •Assures compliance to all regulatory standards, including on-time compliance training for employees. •Completes and reviews critical documentation including SOPs, Batch Records, and Exception Documents. Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications: •Must have demonstrated ability to effectively react to a variety of problems in minimum time. •Must have demonstrated ability to anticipate and resolve problems with minimum negative impact on production quality, quantity, and cost. Education and Experience: * •Must be at least 18 years of age. •An associate’s degree or higher is required; Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Business or related field •Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing or related field, preferably as a Supervisor, or similar position is required. •Candidates without a degree will be considered provided they have 6 years of direct supervisory experience. •This position requires leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience. •Prior supervisory experience in pharmaceutical, food or cosmetic manufacturing is preferred. *Physical Requirements and Work Environment: •Manufacturing environment, clean room / gowning, office environment. •Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection. May also be required to work in areas requiring additional gowning. •Must be able to stand for extended period of time and lift up to 20 pounds. •Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
