Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Austin, TX!!

Client : Manufacturing Industry

Role : Maintenance Technician (3+ years of experience)

Duration : 6 month contract to hire

Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to be proficient in Mechanics and Electrical fields to work independently as well as working toward the development of other maintenance disciplines described below. You are expected to understand and maintain typical industrial components that are arrayed into machines that accomplish specific tasks.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair Line equipment.

  • Support the facility by effectively interfacing with the team by repairing other equipment as needed. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.

  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs and maintenance.

  • Replace P.C. Boards, Program VFD's

  • Identify, Repair and replace broken machine components.

  • Diagnose malfunctions and analyze results using testing devices.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspect parts for signs of excessive wear or damage.

  • Repairs, modifies and/or replaces parts on all production and facility equipment.

  • Maintain, replace and repairs all pneumatic equipment. Troubleshoot complex pneumatic system issues.

  • Repair and maintain: Air compressors and other plant utility systems.

  • Identify energy loss and correct issues.

  • System troubleshooting and problem solving of team production problems.

  • Replace/repair hydraulic cylinders, valves and pumps.

  • Maintain work and shop area and stock tools, parts, and supplies.

  • Complete written record of work performed. Perform preventative maintenance inspections.

  • Complete repairs and parts replacements.

  • Repair, install, adjust or maintain machines or vehicles.

  • Partake in Safety Observations, Safe Work Practices, LOTO, and Job Hazard Analysis Good Manufacturing Practices and proper quality documentation.

  • Develop fundamental skills such as reading schematics and blueprints, mathematics, power tools, measurements, and hand tools.

  • Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities; identify equipment maintenance needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred or equivalent; must have valid driver’s license

  • Level 1 Techs: good general mechanical knowledge, motivated and willing to learn, does not need direct maintenance experience as long as he/she is knowledgeable of different tools and how mechanical things work together

  • Level 2 Techs: 3-5 years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience. Does not need to come from manufacturing field, but ideally would be mechanical and electrical maintenance from manufacturing. Strong preference is for electrical knowledge and experience with 480V electrical troubleshooting

  • Level 3 Techs: 5+ years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience from within a manufacturing plant, with a strong preference for food manufacturing experience. Need to be strong electrically and potentially have some commercial refrigeration experience Strong Communication skills Strong general mechanical aptitude Display a strong sense of ownership for work Detail Oriented
