SHI Jr. Project Manager - Internship in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

As a Jr. Project Manager Intern, you will play an integral role inassistingour Project Management team in organizing andcontrolproject activities. You willfacilitateplanning, monitoring, and reporting on the project using project management tools. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in project management, team collaboration, and strategic planning. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, and is eager to learn and grow in project management.

This position reports to the Austin, TX, office location.

Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to:

  • Organize and facilitate project events.

  • Facilitate project reporting and monitoring.

  • Create weekly, biweekly, or monthly reports.

  • Produce templates to ensure consistent documentation.

  • Facilitate and update project goals and scope as necessary.

  • Assist in removing any obstacles blocking project/sprint progress.

  • Communicate project progress and deliverables to relevant stakeholders.

  • Assist in coordinating meetings, conference calls, and project communication to drive project completion with internal and external resources.

  • Assist team with assigning project roles and tasks to relevant stakeholders and check in for status updates.

  • Facilitate projects from inception to completion.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in good academic standing working towards a bachelor’s degree in I.T. or Computer Science, business administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or related field.

  • Understanding of general project management and conflict resolution principles

  • Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures

Required Skills

  • Strong communicationand problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment

  • Understand the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.

  • Effectively communicate with people in varying job roles, including developers, analysts, product owners, application users, and company leadership.

  • Strong follow-up skills and experience holding project teams accountable for quality

  • Strong understanding of the dynamics of cross-functional teams, with the ability to creatively problem-solve

  • Time management and organization skills

  • Proficiencyin M.S. office tools – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Power B.I.

Preferred qualifications and skills :

  • Experience in I.T. delivery and operations.

  • Experience in organizing a team.

  • Experience with multiple project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.).

  • Experience with project management tools, ideally Jira.

  • Experience using PowerPoint and M.S. Project.

  • Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

Unique Requirements

  • The intern selected will berequiredto work40 hoursa week over a specified 12-week duration.

Additional Information

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00/Hr.
