TEKsystems Jr .Net Developer in Austin, Texas

This position is hybrid out of Austin Texas

This organization is in the rebuilding stage; they're down to 2 developers there. There is an XML editor and they are migrating from desktop application to web application; there is already licenses and proof of concept and such so they're all in on this; they're migrating their clients to the latest technology. They are reverse engineering - they have the features, looking at the old code, and building these pieces over to the new code

This developer will convert fulltime with the agency in a few months. They are slowly getting back into the office one day a week, so must be local to Austin or willing to relocate. The organization will provide laptop and monitor - SurfaceLaptop3. + Monitors (32 inch). Interview Dec 13th week & start Jan 3rd ideally. One video technical Zoom interview.

The technology stack is fullstack development in both Windows & Web development using C#, JavaScript, typescript, Angular 13, Visual Studio 2022, .Net MVC, and SQL Server. These developers will spend about 50/50 in front-end and back-end (old and new development). Both teams support 30+ applications and about 80 percent of the development is in Web and 20 percent is in older, Desktop applications. There is some cloud Azure work but not for this scrum team.

So in summary:

• 1+ years experience in C#;

• Strong JavaScript coding skills;

• strong SQL Server development skills;

• experience with .NET Windows and Web development;

• must be able to quickly learn the coding environment and applications;

• must be able to analyze and troubleshoot issues within production applications;

• must be able to follow established practices and to research and offer new solutions;

• must be a good communicator, both written and verbal;

• must pay close attention to detail, especially related to coding and testing; and

• must be a team player with an easy going personality.

CS degree preferred, but they’ll take someone with bootcamp but some relevant work experience after bootcamp will be required. 9months to 1 years of professional experience where they are working on it versus like group project from school but a 4year degree in a programming field will also let them flex on the amount of professional experience.

Since they are hiring for a junior resource, they would love someone who is hungry, eager to learn, comfortable in a feedback enriched environment and is coachable. There is a lot of work to be done so they need to pull their own weight, but will definitely be given training and grace due to the entry-level work.
