Conduct field investigations, inspect and monitor projects to ensure legal and code compliance of specifications by reviewing work completed by contractors for accuracy and recommends approval of contract changesMaintain, update, and create specifications, and prepare design criteria for assigned projects in the appropriate disciplineManage and coordinate special projects, leads a design team in the preparation of preliminary and long-range plans, schedules, estimates, budgets, detail final construction plans, specifications, special conditions and agreements. Oversees project progress from design through construction and commissioning.Perform equipment and process evaluations to ensure valid results. Troubleshoots and assess existing systems and make recommendations for improvements/corrections.Prepares contract documents, technical specifications and plans. Prepares and monitors project and program schedules and budgets. Prepares progress and final reports and estimates.Provides information to campus customers by contacts of personnel to include inter and intra-departmental administrative, engineering and construction personnel, other government agencies, contractors, consultants and the public to exchange information, coordinate work, answer questions, and respond to inquiries.Responsible for progressively complex projects by preparing cost estimates and engineering and feasibility reports and studies, projects, and assigned programs.Under the supervision of one or more Professional Engineer(s), review/develop plans, permits, and development proposals.
