Overview and Essential Functions

Overview:

The Construction Manager must be a motivated, organized individual who can manage multiple Telecom projects that will be located throughout Austin. The preferred candidate for the Construction Manager position should have 5+ yrs. telecommunication construction experience in underground projects. This is a leadership position.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, direct, supervise and coordinate construction activities on multiple job sites

  • Ensure employee and subcontractor compliance to all industry and company standards

  • Maintain project safety controls

  • Coordinate construction scheduling and communications

  • Supervise the installation of equipment and components in assigned field locations

  • Act as a liaison to project management concerning bids, subcontracting, billing, production progress and delays

  • Assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of project procedures, schedule, cost controls and reporting

  • Prepare and review project plans, specifications, drawings and schedules to determine work phases and priorities

  • Provide day to day direction to field activities including establishing manpower levels, employee relations and monitoring workmanship, materials conformity and compliance to design documents

  • Requisition and coordinate movement of tools, materials and equipment in accordance with procedures

  • Identify potential changes to project scope and advises team of associated impacts

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate

  • 5+ years managing underground & aerial utility construction (with focus in telecommunications)

  • Strong Communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Strong Computer skils
