Burns & McDonnell Assistant Construction Manager (Austin) in Austin, Texas

Description

Assist the Construction Project Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, as well as the Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) Project Manager or Program Manager with day-to-day management of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, supplies, procurement, proposals, estimates documentation, turnover, client interface, field-based activities, and other duties required to execute EPC projects, construction management and program management ventures. This position will work on a diverse array of projects across multiple industries including aviation, commercial building, electrical transmission & distribution, facility, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, process, and water. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Travel to client sites as required for client construction projects, to assist with project implementation. Overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus three (3) years of relevant experience on construction project sites or executing program management. Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus two (2) years of relevant experience on construction project sites or executing program management in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of described experience.

Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following:

  • Microsoft Office.

  • Document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Travel to client sites as required for client construction projects, to assist with project implementation. Overnight travel may be required.
