Aerotek Assembly Technician 2 in Austin, Texas

Description:

The Assembly Technician 2 produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. This individual needs to have the ability to, with minimal training, assemble assemblies/equipment by being given a set of tools and a drawing, blueprint and/or work instructions. This is someone who is a quick learner, can follow and pick up on a process quickly, and who is mechanically inclined.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Performs basic mechanical assemblies & sub-assemblies. • Must be able to leak test • Operates hand and power tools to complete assemblies. • Reads and interprets work instructions to ensure accuracy of work performed. • Interacts with management and team members to encourage effective communication on the production floor. • Performs standard testing and minor troubleshooting. • Ensures quality standards are met throughout all steps of the assembly process. • Performs other duties as required. • Attendance is an essential duty of the position.

(1) 1st shift = 6am – 230 pm – can work up to 10 hours (3) 2nd shift = 2:30pm - 11:30pm - can work up to 10 hours

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVE: Minimum 1-2+ years of mechanical assembly experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment • Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform basic and repetitive assembly operations as required. • General knowledge of operating hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools. • Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willing to learn. • Excellent communication skills. • Basic computer skills and the ability to operate computer terminals and general software applications. • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints desired.

*Note: additional must have for Chris Greene's/Jacob Sundby's req in ASML: This individual needs to have the ability to, with minimal training, assemble complex assemblies/equipment by being given a full set of tools and a drawing, blueprint or work instruction. This is someone who is a quick learner, can follow and pick up on a process quickly, and who is mechanically inclined. ASML is a larger machine they are building - so someone needs to be comfortable working on more diverse, complex assemblies and be physically capable of handling/lifting larger parts.

BEST vs. AVG: • Cable and Harness assembly experience a plus. • Cleanroom experience a plus. • Technician coursework or Associates Degree is a plus.
