Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer - Command and Control (C2) Component Engineer to assist the C2 Component Chief Engineer with Engineering responsibilities on the Program. The C2 Component Chief Engineer is responsible for the C2 component system engineering and architecture, providing technical direction and clarification of requirements and design to the program team including review and approval of capability and feature elaborations, acceptance events and closures.

In support and as the apprentice to the C2 Chief Engineer, you will be part of an Enterprise level, satellite command and control system using the latest in adapted DevOps processes and cloud architecture consisting of approximately 400 employees. The Program replaces legacy GEOINT stovepipe systems built for individual missions with a system to optimize efficiencies at the Enterprise level.

This Program follows modern Agile / DevOps development practices utilizing an agile framework and we provide robust and easy-to-use tools for reporting status and estimates to your Agile team leadership - meaning more time for true problem solving. Our small Agile teams adapt to evolving problem sets, and Engineers benefit from a flexible work environment where Engineers can migrate between teams to contribute to new domains.

This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Assist in providing technical direction and clarification of requirements and design

  • Support technical interchange meetings with program management and the customer and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development for the C2 component

  • Help to prioritizes the C2 component Deficiency Report (DR) backlog

  • Assist in providing C2 component impacts for change management

  • Engage in the entire software lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance as it pertains to the C2 component

    Basic Qualifications :

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience

  • Active and transferable Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience with requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

  • Experience with software design solutions

  • Experience designing and implementing command and control services including Front End Processors (FEPs), and history services with the end user in mind

  • Experience with software development processes, enterprise testing and their applications

  • Experience working in an Agile and DevOps development environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience communicating status, issues, and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including Raytheon senior management, customers, and major subcontractors

  • Experience in change management, bidding, and proposal generation

  • Experience in business and project management tools and procedures (e.g. IPDS, EVMS, Risk Management, Financial Forecasts and EAC)

  • Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background highly preferred

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
