Job Overview

Under the supervision and direction of a licensed pharmacist and following established policies and procedures, performs a variety of technical and clinical procedures to support hospital pharmacy operations. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, team-oriented person to join our Pharmacy Team here at Children's Hospital Colorado. The Pharmacy Intern will process and fill prescriptions, compound medications, assist with administrative functions, documentation and undertaking other tasks at the direction of the pharmacist all the while providing excellent customer service. Department: Outpatient Pharmacy Hours per week: PRN (as needed) Shift: 4-10 hr., rotating days/evenings and weekends. Minimum availability of 7 shifts in a 6 week schedule period - minimum of 3 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule period.

Qualifications

Education: Actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy. Licensure(s): Pharmacist Intern from the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy within 60 days of eligibility.

Provides drug information services by responding to questions regarding medication compatibilities, adverse drug events, dosing, regimens, storage and disposal, compounding,and pharmaceutical supplies in a timely manner; using a systematic approach to effectively searching, retrieving, and evaluating the literat re and appropriately communicating and applying the information to the patient care situation. b. Participates in emergency response; provides patient education, guidance of medication related therapeutic issues; documents pharmaceutical interventions according to departmental standards; and performs therapeutic drug monitoring. c.
