UCHealth Pharmacist Clinical Inpatient - Critical Care in Aurora, Colorado

Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, US:CO:Aurora

Department: Pharmacy IP

FTE: PRN, 0.0, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Rotating

Pay: $50.76 - $76.14 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

  • State licensure as a Pharmacist.

  • Preferred: PGY-2 critical care residency or extensive critical care experience.

  • Preferred: Board Certification in Critical Care Pharmacy (BCCCP)

Summary:

Flex/PRN pharmacist coordinates and provides pharmaceutical care for adult critical care patients and emergency medicine patients. This person will be expected to be flexible with coverage and available to cover 7 days a week, including day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. This person will also be expected to work one weekend per month in the ICU pharmacist group rotation and be included in the ICU pharmacist holiday rotation (pending availability). Experience within the following critical care areas is preferred: Burn, Cardiothoracic ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Medical ICU, Neuro/Neurosurgical ICU, and Surgical/Trauma ICU. Experience in emergency medicine also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages pharmaceutical care and protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Responds to all resuscitation/emergency response needs in the adult inpatient areas and emergency department (ED).

  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug-related problems.

  • Provides drug information and education to medical professionals, students, and patients.

  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
