University Of Colorado Medicine Healthcare Customer Service Apprentice Program in Aurora, Colorado

We are seeking a motivated group of individuals to complete a 7-week Apprentice Program aimed at developing talent to support our Patient Services team. At CU Medicine the Patient Services department responds to a high volume of inquiries (primarily via inbound phone calls) and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in all interactions with patients, family members, etc.

This is a 100% remote program, and all necessary equipment will be provided to participants for use through the duration of the 7-week session.

Preference will be given to individuals residing in Colorado, but out of state applicants will also be considered.

The 7-week session is scheduled to start on Monday, June 17th and will run through Friday, August 2nd, 2024.

Over the course of 7 weeks, participants will gain in-depth exposure to all Patient Services activities and will learn about CU Medicine's other Revenue Services departments though training sessions and work activities/tasks.

Program Structure:

Participants will spend time training with our Patient Services department Participants will develop an understanding of how Patient Services partners with other Revenue Services departments, including: Registration Coding Services Accounts Receivable Resolution Revenue Operations Participants will complete a comprehensive orientation to the operations of CU Medicine to develop basic skills in revenue cycle management and gain a better understanding of academic healthcare, the faculty practice plan and its related entities. Participants will maintain a full-time schedule (Monday-Friday, 40hrs/wk) Location: 100% remote Participants will be paid during the apprentice program ($18.30/hr.)

The goal of the Apprentice program is to expose potentially qualified individuals to the CU Medicine environment, provide hands-on learning experiences and ultimately identify individuals for future opportunities within the Patient Services team.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity working in Customer Service, with a primary focus on patient or customer phone calls. Prior experience working in a healthcare &/or call center environment is a plus. Pursuit of a related degree or professional certificate combined with a demonstrated interest in health care administration will also be considered. Must display professional verbal and written communication skills. High proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, who is well organized and understands the importance of dependability and punctuality. Must demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information. Requires the ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and established production metrics. Excellent interpersonal skills are imperative to success.
