Job Summary:

Research Financial Management

  • Manage consulting contracts, billing and tracking revenue for faculty.

  • Track department research commitments, creating AEFs, DEFs and reviewing expenses.

  • Manage and approve all department service center revenues and expenditures.

  • Administers pertinent university fiscal policies and procedures, and state, federal and sponsor policies and standards applicable to business management of the projects.

  • Manage Service Centers and respected cost studies for each– establishing user fees for each group.

  • Responsible for collecting and depositing contributions into the service centers.

  • Manage and oversee a multitude of accounts that are associated with service centers and their respective balances.

Research Administrative Services:

  • Provide back up for pre and post award functions.

  • Provide back up for payroll management for researchers.

  • Provide procurement for service centers, including establishing contracts for vendor maintenance, purchase orders, etc.

  • Oversee the statistical resources supporting the Radiology Faculty.

  • Ensure that appropriate Radiology fees are included in every budget that requires Radiology services.

  • Ensure that appropriate Radiologist credit is noted on protocols through funding/support and/or publications.

  • Conduct general financial activities, including but not limited to journal entries, creation of startup accounts for faculty.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, healthcare administration, public administration or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • The position requires diverse and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility with 2 years of experience in managing finances and professional management. experience, including fiscal responsibilities, preferably in an academic medical/research center environment.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in an academic/research medical center or a healthcare environment.

  • Experience working with University of Colorado and CU Medicine business applications (Peoplesoft Finance, CU-Data, Concur, Marketplace, WebSpace, AX System, COR360 etc.).

  • Three or more years of professional experience in financial administration management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong accounting and analytical skills.

  • Ability to assemble and analyze information for reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
