Nature of Work

The Department of Surgery, Division of GI, Trauma, and Endocrine Surgery is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Assistant or Associate Professor at a Level I Trauma Center at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The candidate should be qualified at the Assistant or Associate level with board certification in General Surgery and Added Qualifications in Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery, Burn Surgery Fellowship, or equivalent certification. Position will be focused in the Burn Surgery Unit with possible rotations with Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. The section of Burn Surgery and Surgical Critical Care is within the Division of GI, Trauma and Endocrine Surgery in the Department of Surgery.

Examples of Work Performed

This position is responsible for staffing and call coverage for the burn surgery service and the burn intensive care service, participation in medical student, resident, and fellow education, and scholarly activity commensurate with qualifications. Preference will be given to applicants with prior research training and productivity. Responsibilities include compliance with and promotion of high-quality service, in order, to meet or exceed standards for appropriate accreditation and verification of these programs by regulatory, accreditation, or verification agencies.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at:

Assistant Professor: $327,000 - $460,000

Associate Professor: $400,00 - $507,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Assistant Professor:

  • Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine

  • Board certified or equivalent in General Surgery

  • Eligible to obtain a license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado

Associate Professor:

  • Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine

  • Board certified or equivalent in General Surgery

  • Eligible to obtain a license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical expertise in the full spectrum of trauma and acute care surgery

  • Fellowship in Burn Surgery and/or Surgical Critical Care

  • Demonstrated proficiency in educational, and research efforts
