Job Summary:

The Director, Regulatory Compliance Information Systems will lead the development, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of software platforms used to support an integrated regulatory compliance program across the company. This individual will interact regularly with the Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and other members of company leadership to leverage existing and emerging technologies used in governance, risk, and compliance fields, such as risk management and governance, policy and document management, data analytics, and quality management. This is a project management and systems oversight role working closely with internal and external stakeholders to support and scale integrated processes to meet the core pillars of a regulatory compliance program. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with diverse business areas within a leading U.S. renewable energy and utility company. This position will play a key role in bringing multiple groups together to implement compliance technologies that ensure the company can best meet its compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert in utilizing systems for governance, risk, and compliance that support diverse business operations in ensuring compliance. Activities will include design and implementation of a centralized GRC system for regulatory compliance (e.g., Archer GRC; identifying and implementing solutions to integrate a GRC system with other enterprise and operational platforms (e.g., SAP); and consulting with business areas on the development of new systems that prioritize and support compliance.
  • Optimization and scaling of software platform functionalities, such as cross-functional integrations and automation, that promote effectiveness and efficiency in monitoring and ensuring regulatory compliance across diverse business areas.
  • Oversight of day-to-day operations, including monitoring processes, coordination with first line business functions, support of activities involving information systems such as regulatory audits, policy dissemination, certifications, and document retention. Position will be supported by staff for operations and administration.
  • Oversight of special projects for continuous improvement utilizing industry benchmarking and emerging technologies and practices.
  • In partnership with other business areas, ensure that trainings, policies and procedures, and communications provide employees with sufficient technical expertise to support regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Ensure that information systems can efficiently generate data that provides the compliance program and business managers the information and insights necessary to promote accountability and compliance.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned. Occasional travel is expected.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in developing and implementing information frameworks and technologies that support regulatory compliance, while ensuring core functionalities, such as workflow automation, cybersecurity, user interface, scalability, auditability, and cross-platform integration. Experience utilizing GRC platforms such as Archer in an operational environment is preferred.
  • 10 or more years of experience in the energy and utility industry or other highly regulated industry developing and implementing information systems used to ensure regulatory compliance, quality management, or other critical processes.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field such as information technology, computer science, data science, information systems. Other degrees with relevant job experience will be considered.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects involving multiple stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Position will be supported by one or more staff to support projects and system administration.
  • Ability to learn complex business processes and support compliance utilizing information technology systems.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent skills in time and team management.

Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on clear and concise writing that is easily understood by employees at all levels.

Ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement program-enhancing initiatives, at times with outside vendors, to continually align processes with evolving industry best practices.

Ability to securely handle sensitive, confidential, and privileged information.

Strong experience with common business software tools and ability to rapidly gain expertise in leveraging diverse third-party and internally developed software tools to monitor business processes.
