Position Description

The Pharmacy Technician provides technical support for pharmacy operations in accordance with The Georgia State Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission, DEA, USP 797, and any other regulatory and accrediting agencies. This position will also act in accordance with protocols, health-system policies and procedures, applicable standards, and pharmacy best practices. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for furthing the hospital's mission of education and will be essential to customer service for other healthcare disciplines and our patients.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Exceptional organizational skills, strong interpersonal/communication skills and customer service focus; attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize, math and computer proficiency. CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) acquired from PTCB or NHA, or Licensed Intern. GA or SC Pharmacy Technician License depending on job location.

Preferred Requirements

2 years or more of experience as pharmacy technician (aseptic compounding, hospital practice).
