Position Description

The Registered Nurse position is a professional registered nurse responsible for the nursing care of a defined patient population. Care is provided through the use of the nursing process and in a manner that is cost effective while maintaining quality of care and optimal patient outcomes. The RN assumes relief Charge Nurse Responsibilities when assigned. The RN participates in unit based and organizational quality improvement initiatives, meets continuing education requirements, participates in student/new employee orientations/teaching activities, upholds Patient Care Services? philosophy and objectives, demonstrates professional growth and development through involvement in professional organizations, review of professional literature and participation in continuing education programs.

Position Requirements

ADN, BSN, OR BA/BS with MSN. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). ACLS, PALS, or NRP (only in select units/departments) must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Current Registered Nursing License (Georgia) or qualifying multi-state compact license.

Preferred Requirements

Experience working on multiple units or floating in an acedemic medical center
