Omnicell Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 in Augusta, Georgia

Position: Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding)

The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding) will be responsible for maintaining all unit-dose medications required for daily dispensing from the Omnicell automated IV equipment. The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 will prepare and maintain the Omnicell IV automated equipment for daily use, perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, review / maintain reports. The Automation Pharmacy Technician IV will engage with various levels of customer service by identifying and addressing any customer concerns and report to the Pharmacy Services Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.

  • Perform IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.

  • Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.

  • Responsible for identifying/ordering medications to ensure medication inventories are at optimal levels.

  • Responsible for monitoring and ordering consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.

  • Responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of IV automation equipment and reporting unresolved equipment issues to the IV HD.

  • Maintain a high level of communication with pharmacy services manager and customer, to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism and responsiveness, by acting as liaison between OMCL and customer to assist with customer concerns.

  • Comply with IV Compounding procedures, policies and guidelines established by the Customer facility.

  • Complete negative fingertip and media fill sampling.

  • Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable and efficient.

  • Demonstrated customer-facing skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with mechanical equipment.

  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Current PTCB Certification or equivalent (i.e., NHA/CPhT, or EXCPT) pharmacy certification, if required

  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Technician License / Registration with the State of GA if required

  • Working knowledge of IV compounding

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced Troubleshooting Skills with automation devices

  • SME for Pharmacy Services department

  • One year of IV Compounding experience

  • Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications

  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques

  • Working knowledge of sterile environment requirement

  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation

Work Conditions

  • Work location: Must be able to daily commute and work at this location: 1120 15TH St, Augusta, GA 30901

  • Shift(s): M-F, 5:00am-3:30pm or 6:00am-4:30pm

  • Pharmacy environment.

  • Capable of standing for several hours at a time.

  • Potential exposure to hazardous drugs.

  • Able to lift 25–30 lbs.

Other:

  • Selected candidates may be required to pass a math aptitude test.
