ETEL Transformers Welder- Night Shift in Auckland - Waitakere, New Zealand

ETEL Limited is a leading New Zealand manufacturer with a strong reputation built on delivering excellence in quality and service in all their products. We are on an exciting journey to becoming a world class manufacturer and are in the midst of making this vision a reality.

We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our team with extensive transformer industry experience, who will assist the team in manufacturing the highest quality distribution transformers. We have a position available on our Night Shift Fabrication Department for a 40-hours per week permanent position.

Responsibilities:

As part of our team, you will have skills to:

  • To read and understand Engineering/CAD transformer design, drawings and blueprints requirements

  • Cut, shape, join and bend metal sections and shapes using appropriate welding techniques and tools.

  • Fabricate and repair metal products using welding techniques

  • Set and operate machines including cleaning and maintenance.

  • Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines

  • Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering

  • Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling, and grinding

  • Finish product to reflect quality and precision following necessary welding methods whilst using solutions to bathe and polish the product

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in Fabrication/Welding Manufacturing environment, minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the transformer industry

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • A high level of reliability and conscientiousness

  • Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test

  • Be able to pass a MOJ check to our satisfaction

  • Be a safety champion and able to follow instructions

    We Offer:

  • Night shift - 4:30pm to 1:00am, with a starting rate of $30.00 to $35.00 per hour based on experience. (including Night Shift allowance)
