Our highly regarded Substations Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team seek a Principal Protection Engineer to play a crucial role in managing and delivering consultancy engineering services in the field of High Voltage T&D. This is an exciting opportunity to join our diverse, multicultural team, in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington, with flexibility to work from home and the office as needed. We are excited to hear from those interested in being involved in the following:

  • Provide High Voltage power transmission consultancy services with a core focus on utilities.

  • Manage and deliver the design of Protection schemes for T&D utilities.

  • Support a diverse range of projects which include renewable connection projects, across On Shore Wind, Solar, BESS, Data center connections and both green and brownfield projects.

  • Manage engineering tasks from concept design through to construction stages of tier 1 projects.

  • Effectively shape the vision of the technical practice based on future focused insights, thought leadership and Jacobs’ goals.

  • Offer technical expertise in Sales and proactively participate in Client engagement and business development opportunities.

  • Oversee technical assessments on a variety of difficult national and international projects and provide quality assurance of technical outputs.

  • Contribute to a learning environment, support fellow engineers, with the opportunity to offer mentoring, be mentored and take advantage of career development opportunities.

  • Passionate about contributing to the field of Transmission & Distribution.
