Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely shipment of products, maintaining shipping records, and coordinating with various departments to streamline the shipping process.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.
Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange shipments.
Inspect and verify outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory.
Communicate with internal departments to resolve shipping issues and ensure timely delivery.
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed.
Assist in inventory management and cycle counts.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
Proficiency in using shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to lift and move heavy packages.
Work Environment
Work in a clean manufacturing shop that processes steel/sheet metal to manufacture parts for Boeing. The environment can be heavy and loud but is organized. The initial few days start at 7:00 am, with regular hours being 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, Washington.
