Power-Flo Technologies Repair Shop Helper in Auburn, New York

Our Auburn Pump and Motor Repair Shop is looking for a Repair Shop Helper to join the team.

This is a great opportunity for recent graduates of HVAC and automotive programs or anyone mechanically inclined.

This role is to assist technicians in the cleaning, painting, testing, binning, partially disassembling of AC/DC motors and pumps.

Repair Shop Helper Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the maintenance of service truck tools, safety equipment, instruments, and materials, specific to pump, motor, and equipment maintenance and repairs.

  • Assist mechanics with the disassembly of pump and motor assemblies.

  • Cleaning Parts using a sandblaster and air tools.

  • Keep shop areas clean from debris.

  • Assist in the maintenance of required stock of pumps, parts, fittings, pipe and related material on the service truck.

  • Performs cleaning, lubricating of tools as required.

  • Performs duties in a professional manner and works well with others or in a team setting.

  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public.

  • Regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.

  • Observes safe work practices and safety methods; performs other duties as assigned.

    Repair Shop Helper Qualifications and Skills :

  • High School diploma, GED equivalent, or Trade School Diploma.

  • Read, interpret, and work from sketches, books, blueprints, and specifications or willingness to learn.

  • Familiar with various hand tools.

  • Familiar with power tools such as impact guns, cut off wheels, and drills.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 100 pounds.

  • Must have a valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles.

    Repair Shop Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Ability to work on elevated platforms

  • Ability to climb ladders

  • This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching

  • You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions

  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery

    Salary Range between $15 - $18/hour
