Title: Cook

What You’ll Do:

  • Help dietician create menus.

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of backing, frying, roasting, steaming, broiling, grilling, serving and carving.

  • Prepares various food items including baked goods and desserts, meats, fish, poultry, shellfish, vegetables, garnishes, soups, and sauces according to standards.

  • Plans and coordinates food production to meet serving schedules.

  • Monitors foods for quality and seasoning and make corrections as needed.

  • Utilizes and stores leftover foods according to industry standards.

  • Schedules other kitchen help.

  • Responsibility for tracking temps in refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher.

  • Stock supplies and rotation of stock.

  • Responsibility for cleaning kitchen area and regular cleaning of refrigerator and freezer.

  • Ensures meals are delivered on time at the right temperature and following patient request.

  • Responsible for meeting budget restrictions.

    What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to read & write.

  • One year of cooking experience or equivalent training.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, walking, standing; occasional climbing of stairs; requires fine motor skills.
