We are actively recruiting qualified candidates for a new direct hire CNC Programmer job near Auburn, ME for our client, longtime supplier and a world leader in producing components with advanced stamping and welding technologies. The Auburn facility is vital to grow its components business in North America. Position Type: Full-time, Salary

Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Hours: 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm (may vary based on company needs)

Role Summary/Purpose:

As part of our dynamic team, the CNC Programming and Technical Process Support role plays a pivotal role in driving efficiency, quality, and safety in our CNC turning and milling processes. This position requires an individual with strong leadership skills and expertise in providing innovative process solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop manufacturing processes for both existing product lines and New Product Introductions (NPI), including the design of fixturing, tooling, and NC programs.

  • Utilize modern CNC tools, technologies, and CAM software to create NC programs.

  • Collaborate effectively with manufacturing personnel and support teams to ensure timely completion of projects within budget.

  • Provide support across all machining centers as needed.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.

  • Assist in operator training initiatives and participate in the development of training materials.

  • Interpret shop blueprints, specifications, and BOMs, and maintain accurate records.

  • Design and coordinate fixture development.

  • Drive process efficiency and quality improvements through LEAN initiatives and Six Sigma tools.

  • Participate in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) actions to enhance safety in the workplace.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology/Metal Removal Theory and a minimum of 10 years' experience in CNC turning setup and/or programming.

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of CNC milling and turning operations.

  • Proficiency in Esprit or equivalent software, as well as Solidworks or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with SMED concepts and Lean practices.

  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and provide efficient solutions.

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Proven track record of working efficiently with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to direct the work of others effectively.

  • Good safety record and commitment to attendance and performance excellence.
