GKN Automotive Commodity Procurement Manager in Auburn Hills, Michigan

Supports the implementation of the Indirect Commodity strategie in his/her area of responsibility. Drives indirect material performance (QCD) for the america's region through a world class indirect material sourcing process and excellent VAVE and Resourcing management. Cooperates with the commodity team, ensuring contracts are applied in the best benefit of the region including supplier consolidation. Manages a best practice process to ensure continuous savings generation (funnel/ Buyer's Business Plan), timely implementation and cross-sharing of VAVE initiatives across plants. Teaming-up with other functions to meet and exceed regional Procurement targets.

Experiences: Preferred logistics/SC experience on transport management, warehouse and logistics services and logistics planning.

Key responsibilities

-Procurement

Achieve specific procurement goals within area of responsibility. May also involve working to improve established procurement procedures.

-Buying

Identify, select, and negotiate with vendors on product selection, assortment, and price for a medium-sized category of products, merchandise, or services.

-Contract Requirements

Identify contract requirements and write specifications for a medium-sized portfolio or area of the business for existing contracts and/or new contracts.

-Contract Management

Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate service-level agreements. Will also plan, coordinate, and supervise activities relating to major contracts.

-Sourcing

Collect and analyze the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for high-risk area(s) with few alternatives/high costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making. Supplier capacity assurance.

-Budgeting and KPIs

Deliver a budget and related KPIs for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress in other areas of the organization. Example KPI's: payment terms, incoterms, VMI's, localisation, PPB's.

-Change Management

Act as a team member supporting a change initiative by providing analysis or monitoring progress with guidance from a project/program manager.

Information and Business Advice

Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.

-Operational Compliance

Monitor and review performance and behaviors within area of responsibility to identify and resolve noncompliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct.

Contribute to stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders; by finding out their needs, issues, and concerns; and by reacting to these needs, issues, and concerns, arranging meetings and events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment.
