Job Description:

Function: To organize, schedule and manage the build of prototype battery pack assemblies for B Sample design verification (DV) testing and Mule level vehicle builds to support product launches for Company.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 1. Bill of Materials (BOM) management. Release BOM into Company BOM management system. 2. Manage receipt of full bill of material for battery pack assemblies. 3. Establish prototype assembly process sheets (build book). 4. In advance of the planned build, run shortage reports to ensure that all material is available for the planned build and address any missing parts, parts with incorrect change levels etc. prior to the planned build to ensure that the build is completed on schedule. 5. Coordinate build schedule to meet customer needs (Testing & Vehicle Builds / Others). 6. Lead / support actual battery builds and rework operations in Company Pilot Plant. 7. Log all build issues and chair meetings to drive team to resolution. Escalate as required. 8. Manage shipping of completed packs per Customer requirements. 9. Maintain build records of each pack in Company systems.

Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in a related area with an Engineering degree preferred (preferably Mechanical or Electrical, or 5 years related build coordination experience). • Motivated, self-driven personality • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written • Ability to interface with personnel at all levels in the company, from VP's to assembly line personnel • Understanding of automotive battery designs. • Knowledge of electronic bill of material systems, and CAD systems, preferably TeamCenter. • Able to work with Strategic Bargaining Unit Battery Build Technicians and other unionized departments. • Knowledge of fasteners and torque. • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite /365 (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Project, Teams etc). • Valid driver's license and own transportation

Preferred Requirements: • Masters Degree in a related area with an Engineering degree preferred, preferably Mechanical or Electrical, or 10 years related build coordination experience • Previous experience managing prototype build operations in the automotive industry. • Understanding of battery electronics, troubleshooting, safety training, etc. • Experience with building and utilizing Stellantis PDS system (EBIDS, BBIDS etc) • Knowledge of the various tools used to collect battery data.

Additional Information: • Place of work: This role requires the build coordinator to be on site at the Pilot Plant Battery Build Center, in Auburn Hills, Michigan. A desk will be provided both in the office area and at the Pilot Plant battery build area. Occasional travel to other local locations may be required. • This position reports to the Manager, Engine and Battery Build, Testing and Validation. The selected Build Coordinator will regularly interface with key personnel on the vehicle program they are working on, including Chief Engineers, Family Managers, Program Managers, and others.
