We have an opportunity for CNC Mill Machinist II for our Auburn, CA/Vian Enterprises site.

Job Summary

The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by setting upand operating a computernumerical control (CNC) machine,maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records andmaintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions:

  • Understandwork orders, blueprints,manufacturing orders, and machining parameters.

  • Validate material used.

  • Maintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; Know when to replace worntools.

  • Listen to machiningoperation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems.

  • Measure dimensions of finishedwork pieces to ensure conformance to specificationsusing precision measuring instruments, templates,fixturesand knowledge of GDT standards.

  • Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as anynecessary further steps.

  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On-Time Delivery (OTD)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ yearsof experiencemachiningwith CNCMills and/orLathe

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages; Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations; Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing; Understanding of cutting tool Geometry; Knowledge of tooling and coordination

  • Skills/Abilities: Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure; Good verbal and written communication; Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

  • Education/Certification:High School Diplomaor equivalent

  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of CNC G Codes

  • Understandingofbasic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE.

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes.

  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.

Salary range: $28 to $37.
