JOB DESCRIPTION: Appraisal Analyst

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Credit Administration

REPORTS TO: SVP Credit Administration

SUPERVISES: No supervisory responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Maintain functions related to real estate appraisals as required by the Credit Administration Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and understand policies and procedures for real estate appraisal requirements
  • Maintain process of ordering, reviewing and evaluating real estate appraisals taken as collateral in credit transactions
  • Communicate with loan officers, review staff, and third-party appraisers
  • Disseminate information regarding real estate appraisals
  • Review general ledger accounts for payment to third party appraisers
  • Maintain approved appraisers files
  • Assist senior staff members in formulating and updating policies and operating procedures which incorporate requirements of real estate appraisals
  • Assist in coordination of the banks efforts in examinations conducted by the Federal Reserve and State Banking Department
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1-year appraisal, lending or banking experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Previous real estate sales experience

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal ability to clearly and concisely present information
  • Proven analytical skills and excellent problem-solving skills

  • A high level of attention to detail is required in order to effectively manage and meet multiple deadlines
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently under limited supervision, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to query information and assimilate reports
  • Extensive word processing and PC spreadsheet applications capabilities
  • Must be able to define realistic, specific goals and objectives; to prioritize objectives
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Must be able to start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation; must be available to work after hours on occasion in order to reach department goals
  • Ability to transport/lift up to 25 lbs.
