Harrison Steel Castings Company Cost Manager in Attica, Indiana

**Summary: Responsible for supervising our managerial cost accounting systems designed to accurately measure costs associated with the production of steel castings and supporting services. The position also Supervises our quoting system for new products and modifications to products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop accurate costs for quotes and manage the quoting process
  • Monitor quoted costs as compared to actual, analyze results, and drive improvements
  • Facilitate purchase of multiple sources of energy (including but not limited to electricity and gas)
  • Maintain management accounting data and cost systems
  • Design and track studies and reports associated with various departments
  • Perform time and material studies
  • Collect, prepare, and present results and ideas to upper management
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to subordinates, training as required

Supervisory Responsibilities Manages two subordinates. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Competency To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; maintains confidentiality; communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, time-management and organizational skills, as well as must be detail oriented and possess strong analytical and mathematical ability. Must pass Cost Department Comptency Test. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Coursework in finance, accounting, math, economics, engineering or related field. Three to Five years experience in managerial accounting or industrial engineering, 6 Sigma Black Belt, and manufacturing experience with an analytical background. Working knowledge of our cost system (M2M), the Harrison Production System, and other systems to be gained on the job. []{style="
