Description

The Nursing Laboratory Assistant supports the Assistant Director of the Nursing Skill and Simulation Laboratory in the maintenance of the Nursing Skill and Simulation Laboratories.

Examples of Duties

  • Assist with the daily operations of the Nursing Skill and Simulation Laboratories by maintaining a neat, organized, and welcoming environment.

  • Assist with laboratory preparation and cleansing which includes setting up, taking down, and restocking supplies used for educational activities in a timely manner.

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment which includes performing minor repairs and assembly using simple tools.

  • Launder linens and clean and sanitize laboratory furniture and equipment including manikins and task trainers.

  • Assist the Assistant Director, Nursing Skill and Simulation Laboratory with tracking, ordering, managing inventory, and maintaining the supple storage areas.

  • Assist the Assistant Director, Nursing Skill and Simulation Laboratory with records and updates on additions or changes to the laboratory environment.

  • Maintain standards of practice for the nursing laboratory as they apply to the State Board of Nursing and OSHA under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Nursing Skill and Simulation Laboratory.

  • Maintain a professional attitude and consistently demonstrate and promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Adhere to all applicable College and Nursing Program Policies and Procedures.

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Competencies and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Supplemental Information

Terms of Employment:

  • This position requires flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.

Paid sick leave in accordance with NJ Sick Leave Law

Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP) (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml)

Eligible part-time employees will be enrolled into the DCRP (Defined Contribution Retirement Plan) pension (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml) . Employees contribute 5% of their base salary and the college contributes 3% of base salary. Investment options are managed through Prudential Retirement. Life insurance benefits through DCRP are payable to the beneficiary at 1.5X the member's salary.
