Home Depot Technical SEO Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

As a Search Analyst (SEO) at The Home Depot, you will provide the key building blocks for the entire organic search marketing team. A Search Analyst will provide keyword research, reporting and insights to enable The HomeDepot.com online teams to identify optimization opportunities and make data-driven decisions that drive traffic and conversion. It will be critical to discover underperforming areas and to identify opportunities that improve overall program performance, for the categories you oversee. The role will work across multiple marketing, creative and IT teams, so planning and execution in a fast paced environment is critical. As a Search Analyst, you will: - Perform keyword research and recommend on-page optimization based on business objectives for both existing content and new opportunities - Provide SEO best practices in alignment with white hat SEO principals - Research and develop strategies for content development to drive on-page and off page optimization - Research, develop and help drive link earning campaigns in coordination with business owners, social partners and vendors - Own daily monitoring of analytics, weekly/monthly dashboard creation and delivery of ad-hoc reporting - Evangelizing SEO across multiple departments, business groups and corporate levels

Key Responsibilities:

  • 25% Monitors campaign performance and executes daily operations

  • 20% Writes and edits on-page and off-page content in bulk

  • 35% Researches and analyzed trends/performance data to identify opportunities for program improvements and enhancements. Manages reporting platform and performs regular and ad hoc data pulls as groundwork for analysis. Provides key insights on business performance.

  • 20% Manages technical projects via Excel

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

  • Intermediate capabilities with Microsoft Excel required

  • Strong editorial skills: a keen eye for grammar, spelling, syntax, and a basic knowledge of AP Style

  • A steadfast passion for SEO and internet marketing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of current and developing SEO trends and best practices

  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS

  • Basic understanding of content marketing: target audiences, keywords, linking, anchor text, success measurement & reporting

  • E-commerce knowledge and experience a plus

  • Prior analytics and data analysis exposure is a plus

  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others

  • Experience using SEO and business-related tools including: Omniture/Adobe, SiteCatalyst, Search Center, Google/Bing Webmaster tools, Google Adwords, SEOmoz, Advanced Web Ranking suite, SEOclarity and keyword research tools

  • Prior analytics and data analysis exposure is a plus

  • Multi-channel marketing and/or ecommerce experience is a plus
