Chick-fil-A Sr. Paralegal, Legal - Litigation in Atlanta, Georgia

Overview

The Senior Paralegal position is a full-time position that serves an integral role in managing litigation related matters of varying levels of complexity and consequence by working directly with various Chick-fil-A business units and in collaboration with in-house and outside legal counsel and paralegals.

Responsibilities

Perform the following functions and various other legal services as needed, exercising discretion and judgment under the supervision of, or in coordination with, in-house legal counsel:

  • Independently prepare drafts of key documents related to Litigation matters and collaborate with in-house or outside counsel to finalize documents including, but not limited to: responses to subpoenas and third party requests, responses to demand letters, discovery responses and productions, and settlement agreements.

  • Lead efforts to collect, coordinate and review relevant documents and information directly from business partners across the enterprise related to litigation-related matters.

  • Lead efforts to coordinate and prepare documents and information for pleadings, briefs, depositions, hearings, and other proceedings.

  • Collaborate with in-house and outside counsel on review and assessment of demand letters and third-party document requests.

  • Collaborate with in-house and outside counsel on a wide variety of other litigation-related matters.

  • Independently manage, maintain and update litigation-related databases, tracking charts, files, and records, working directly with business partners as needed.

  • Participate in meetings with business colleagues from across the enterprise pertaining to litigation and risk-mitigation-related issues, as well as provide updates on active matters.

  • Lead efforts for responding to notices of potential disputes from customers or others.

  • Coordinate offensive recovery program to review and assess class action claims that may be recovered on behalf of the company.

  • Independently calendar and communicate key litigation-related deadlines.

  • Conduct research and prepare summaries for attorney review and analysis on litigation-related matters.

  • Develop and manage certain processes regarding to litigation management.

  • Develop and update training materials and delivery of training for corporate staff on litigation-related issues.

  • Coordinate with eDiscovery Program Lead on legal holds and preservation demands.

  • Respond to routine subpoenas and preservation of evidence demands.

  • Assist with the resolution and administrative components of matters .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications

  • Strong technical skills with document management programs, eDiscovery platforms, and Microsoft’s eDiscovery tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department setting on Litigation related issues

  • Self-starter with strong follow-through and organizational skills

  • High level of initiative and attention to detail

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments

  • Ability to identify and prioritize workload

  • Paralegal Certificate
