Home Depot Sr. Business Analyst, HR Operations - Payroll Accounting in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

This position ensures that Human Resources and other business initiatives are fully supported with the appropriate process, tools, and metrics. This is accomplished by using rigorous process and data analysis, adherence to formal project management and project methodology working with business and IT partners. The Sr. HRS Business Analyst is also responsible for ensuring process and system integration across the breadth of HR functional activities and to preserve confidentiality of sensitive associate and business data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 10% Organize and lead current and to be business processes using business and systems expertise, and accepted procedures and methodologies

  • 20% Document business requirements and work with both IT and business partners on appropriate design decisions

  • 10% Participate in appropriate steps within the solution development lifecycle to ensure functional requirements are met and meetings are facilitated with functional SMEs, peers, management, and other key stakeholders

  • 20% Lead end to end implementation planning to include change management, training and support

  • 10% Facilitate aspects of individual projects to include work plans, issues resolution, and status reports

  • 10% Prepare, develop or configure programs and processes typically of moderate to high complexity

  • 10% Participate in and perform appropriate quality assurance testing

  • 10% Lead, coach and develop HRS Business Analyst and HRS Specialist as needed to accomplish business goals

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Typically reports to Manager HR Services or Sr. Manager HR Services

  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced with formal project management techniques, systems development methodologies, and implementation of systems software (preferably HR, Payroll or Finance)

  • Knowledgeable of HR & Payroll processes and business practices preferably in either retail or service organization with large employee base and supported by distributed HR Management team(s).

  • Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • 4

Competencies:

  • Project management experience

  • Solid communications and interpersonal skills; ability to develop effective business relationships and build consensus

  • Knowledge of HR processes and supporting systems

  • Understanding of application development methodology

  • Sound business judgment, analytical skills and ability to effectively manage issues and risks

  • Effective consulting and facilitation skills
