About this role:

We are a DevOps and Site Reliability division at Warner Bros Discovery working to support and build the next generation of video-enabled services. Our Systems Engineers help manage and monitor our platform infrastructure. We are responsible for infrastructure-as-code management, software deployments, third-party service providers, and AWS system maintenance and configuration. We are entrusted with delivering reliable cloud infrastructure, efficient CI/CD pipelines and a robust security posture.

As a Systems Engineer focused on video streaming and direct to consumer entertainment, you will work remotely with different teams, including backend, product, and more. You will focus on supporting innovative video features such as live metadata sync, premium user account management, synchronized video across multiple clients, and backend stacks that support video delivery for Live and VoD streams.

What will you do?

  • Maintain production and non-production systems in AWS.

  • Tackle projects involving CI/CD tools (Github Actions, Jenkins) monitoring tools (DataDog) and Docker orchestration tools (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS/Fargate).

  • Support the development teams in managing AWS accounts, Docker configuration and communication tools.

  • Work on application pipelines using continuous integration.

  • Support and scale our metrics/logging/alerting stack and tools.

What do we require from you?

  • Experience using and maintaining Linux systems.

  • Experience with most of: AWS, Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, Python, video transcoding systems.

  • Familiarity with modern DevOps techniques such as infrastructure as code, CI and deployment strategies.

  • Familiarity with one (or more) programming languages, including bash, Python, Java, Go and NodeJS.

  • The ability to often work asynchronously, autonomously, and to follow through when working independently.

  • Bachelor’s degree

Bonus points if ...

  • Experience in security and/or DevSecOps

  • Experience with writing Terraform modules.

  • Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform)

The following are some of the tools we use regularly. We do not expect you to have proficiency in everything in this list, but expert knowledge with a few and familiarity with the others (or a close analog) is ideal.

  • AWS (in general)

  • Python

  • Github Actions

  • Terraform, Terragrunt and IaC in general.

  • Linux and bash

  • Docker container orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS)

  • DataDog, ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK)
