The Coca-Cola Company Shipping and Finishing Coordinator in Atlanta, Georgia

The Warehouse Shipping Finishing Coordinator is responsible for directing the work of other Logistics employees as assigned by the Supervisor. The Warehouse Shipping Clerk must possess leadership qualities and with a strong commitment to safety, quality, procedural and policy adherence, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The Warehouse Shipping Clerk will schedule shipments and deliveries, issue work via computer system to warehouse employees and support warehouse and material's operations. Candidate must be a team player with a strong work ethic and proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do for Us

  • Manage day-to-day inventory systems, processes, and procedures to ensure achievement of key business results. Scheduling loading and delivery times for materials and finished product

  • Coordinate interdepartmentally to safeguard movement of goods while maximizing efficiencies and delivering high-level customer service to both internal and external customers.

  • Develop, implement, and sustain standard work procedures.

  • Supervise and analyze employee performance; train and evaluate employees. Coach, mentor, develop, and train hourly workforce; evaluate and track employee performance.

  • Conduct rotations between Logistics Lead activities and Dispatcher activities and Support Dept. Manager and Supervisors, as needed.

  • Document all product and material transfers and shipments, including reading, scanning, and printing labels.

  • Receive, store, and distribute material and product, as required

  • Identify non-conforming product

  • Perform inventory reconciliation

  • Perform audits, as scheduled, and requested

  • Research inventory discrepancies, as needed

  • Consolidate bills of lading for transfer to shipping office

  • Responsible for dispatching truck drivers and loaders

  • Work with customers, transportation, carriers and customer service if a truck is late

  • Learn and follow all prescribed good manufacturing practice (GMP), safety, attendance, and rules of conduct guidelines.

  • Available to work overtime and/or flexible shift hours when required.

  • Takes initiative and has accountability for the quality and effectiveness of own work.

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

Oversee the operation of the shipping/receiving areas. Ensures that trucks are loaded properly, carriers receive dock assignment, and product moved to proper distribution locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Use SAP shipping/receiving system and MS Office tools, specifically Excel and e-mail.

  • Interact with customer service, Shipping Lead, warehouse technicians, inventory department, receiving department, ASRS, syrup production, quality department, transportation, guard service, and truck lines to schedule and distribute finished goods.

  • Update shipping schedule and SAP when orders are received and shipped.

  • Investigate historical SAP shipping transactions.

  • Perform inventory transfers in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Make shipment adjustments as needed

  • Notify warehouse lead/team leader of situations that could result in a disruption to deliveries and customer service.

  • Collate, prepare, distribute and process the various bills of lading, reports and customer service

  • Maintain GMP and safety requirements including PPE

  • Insure all 'Special Instructions' on BOL are adhered to

  • Insure inbounds are received timely and accurately

  • Comply with all Integrated Management System policies and procedures

  • Comply with GMP policies

  • Comply with Safety Policies and Procedures

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Clean work area

  • Operate forklift

  • Backfill for Lead Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Ability to read and understand instructions and safety procedures. Ability to record information. Ability to move 65 lbs., a distance of at least 5 ft. Visual ability to identify container and equipment problems. Manual dexterity to manipulate small objects. Ability to stand for extended periods (2 hours).

JOB LOCATION AND WORK CONDITIONS :

All Coca- Cola, Syrup branch work is performed on a production floor, yard, & Shipping office. Work requires exposure to moderate noise levels, working around moving equipment, confined spaces, wetness, fumes, subject to hazards, including working with or near moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to toxic/hazardous chemicals. Work is performed on fixed shifts. Manufacturing facility subject to extreme heat and cold. Multi-shift operation.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED AND TOOLS USED :

Forklift, computer, fax machine, copier, printer, pager, telephone, two-way radio

Qualification & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years of related experience in distribution / shipping leadership required

  • Demonstrate leadership in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability is expected

  • Excellent leadership skills including development, supervision, and accountability

  • Detail oriented, organized, and committed to quality

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills

  • Customer service focused and results driven

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift. Forklift experience is a must..

  • Able to perform physical tasks including lifting and pushing/ pulling (Up to 65lbs)

  • Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. and ability to work in extreme temperatures

  • Manual and finger dexterity

  • Ability to grip, grasp, and squeeze materials, parts, hand tools, and products.

  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations

  • Ability to work 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shift or required necessary hours to meet the business requirements.

  • This may include overtime and weekend work as necessary * Must be able to use a computer and associated software programs

  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Service and Cost objectives.

  • Ability to participate in job development training (i.e. trouble-shooting, etc.)

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Must train as a warehouse operator II (Warehouse Technician) as a finisher building pallets and loader of product on trucks.

  • Must be able to drive a forklift.
