Do you have experience workin in critical environments? As a Senior Technical Program Manager, Critical Environment Telemetry in this role, you will help support the operations through telemetry, data analytics and automation.

The Datacenter Critical Environments Systems Intelligence (CESI) team is responsible for transforming Microsoft’s global datacenter Critical Environment operations through deep telemetry, data analytics and integrative automation. Working in lock-step with Microsoft’s cloud service development and operations teams, CESI powers telemetry service management and IoT architectures that contemplate end to end Cloud availability and sustainability. Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Program Manager, Critical Environment Telemetry is a strategic role for Microsoft’s datacenter critical environment. Microsoft uses Critical Environment telemetry from its cloud infrastructure to drive continuous operational excellence and resource efficiency to. This global thought-leadership function will drive the on-going development and improvement of the technology ecosystem that supports this data pipeline. The technical ecosystem builds on, expands, and improves extensibility of industrial control system telemetry to first- and third-party applications and systems while showcasing Microsoft’s Azure and cybersecurity platforms. This high visibility technical execution role will influence and advance Microsoft’s data center strategy while working collaboratively across teams and divisions to develop infrastructure design and strategy aligned to a common roadmap.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of x-organizational programs and services to federate physical datacenter telemetry with application programming interfaces (APIs) for internal and external services such as power management and utility demand response programs. They will work across teams of architects, hardware and software engineers, data scientists and researchers to deeply understand and continuously improve a sustainable relationship between datacenter, Cloud, customer, and the planet.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or Industrial Controls Systems (ICS), Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), Building Automation Systems (BAS), or more general System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years working in Critical Environment products, systems, and technologies (heavy industrial electrical and/or mechanical systems)

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
