GAP Solutions Inc Senior Public Health SME in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Objective:

The Senior Public Health SME shall perform the following tasks in support of major DHIS program initiatives, including but not limited to the launch of a new data platform, Data Hub, National Syndromic Surveillance Program (NSSP) and National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides high-level expertise with respect to all phases of statistical models and interpretation of analysis and studies.

  • Is an expert in R programming and Jupyter Notebook.

  • Personally analyzes and prepares complex studies that require more sophisticated methodology and/or advanced computer skills.

  • Examines reports and articles prepared by others within the organization as part of the peer review process.

  • Provides technical consultation with program staff to develop study questions and designs, conduct analysis and interpret the findings based on pharmacy, hospital and healthcare claims data.

  • Contribute as co-author and write papers for publications in peer review journals and reports, and present to the scientific community at professional meetings and conferences as appropriate.

  • Performs work that is reviewed in timely intervals as defined by Health Scientist Coordinator.

  • Provides deliverables within the time frames defined by appropriate personnel and reviews to ensure time frames and quality standards are met.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 8 years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for education: 4+ years’ experience with a PhD; 6+ years’ experience with an MA/MS degree; 10+ years’ experience with related Associate’s Degree, or 12+ years’ related experience with no degree.

  • Expert in R programming and Jupyter Notebook.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

  • Knowledge in managing and analyzing large data sets using either SAS or R required.

  • US Citizenship is required.
