Description

The Senior Clinical Nurse Outreach Educator for the Atlanta Regional Perinatal Center (RPC) is responsible for identifying and coordinating the educational and training needs of the physicians, nurses, and ancillary personnel within the 39 county Atlanta Regional Perinatal Center.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Identifies the educational and training needs of targeted learners in the areas of classroom-based learning, clinical preceptorships, and in-service training.

  • Coordinates the planning implementation, and evaluation of clinical training programs and the provision of clinical consultation to care providers based on identified needs.

  • Assists in the development and dissemination of medical management guidelines and other clinical information for targeted providers.

  • Prepares, schedules, and delivers classroom and clinic-based medical management instruction for clinical healthcare professionals.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Manages the Emory Regional Perinatal Center Outreach program.

  • Coordinates the planning implementation, and evaluation of clinical training programs, such as S.T.A.B.L.E. and NRP, and the provision of clinical consultation and education to care providers based on identified needs.

  • Assists in the development and dissemination of medical management guidelines and other clinical information for targeted providers.

  • Identifies educational needs and builds relationships with regional hospitals.

  • Coordinates planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical nursing and physician education for hospitals within our region, both in-person and remotely via technology.

  • Serves as liaison between Department of Public Health, RPC administrative leadership, Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative (GaPQC), community hospitals, and local healthcare providers.

  • Prepares and provides reports for the Department of Public Heath (DPH).

  • Prepares and publishes the regional perinatal newsletter and updates RPC website and educational video library.Assists in the planning and execution of larger educational conferences provided by the division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master's prepared nurse or nurse practitioner.

  • Five years of clinical or clinical education/instructional experience.

  • Experience in a particular medical specialty may be required.

  • Academic preparation in educational methodology is preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clinical nurse educator experience.

  • Three (3) years clinical experience in Neonatology.

  • Level 3 NICU clinical skills, knowledge base and educational skills should be continuously updated with current changes in perinatal health.

  • NRP certified.

  • Organizational skills, with attention to detail.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Interpersonal skills to facilitate relationships with regional hospitals.

  • Willingness to travel within the region (North Georgia).

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
